Shackled

"Shackled"

For so long my life's been sewn up tight inside your hold
And it leaves me there without a place to call my own

I know now what shadows can see
There's no point in running 'less you run with me
It's half the distance through the open door
Before you cut me down
Again
Let me introduce you to the end

And I feel the cold wind blowing beneath my wings
It always leads me back to suffering
But I will soar until the wind whips me down
Leaves me beaten on unholy ground again

So tired now of paying my dues
I start out strong but then I always lose
It's half the distance before you leave me behind
It's such a waste of time

[Chorus]
'Cause my shackles
You won't be
And my rapture
You won't believe
And deep inside you will bleed for me

So here I slave inside of a broken dream
Forever holding on to splitting seams
So take your piece and leave me alone to die
I don't need you to keep my faith alive

I know now what trouble can be
And why it follows me so easily
It'…

Evil People

Image
I'm someone who doesn't really take too much faith in evil, or an innate badness. I dont think the world is divided, and in an eternal war between good and bad. I think of it as more of a balance between positive and negative. A farmer killing a cow for food doesn't make them evil. A soldier killing someone in war, doesn't make them evil. I'm not saying either is "Good" but I would be hard pressed to say that the farmer and soldier were both inherently bad people. They are both just playing their parts.

There are some people who think they are wrong to do what they do. They are both murderers, in some eyes. in others they are actually better and strong for what they do. Courageous even.

So when there are huge populations of people who think what you're doing is totally ok - it's hard to say that the person doing ______ is evil, even if the act itself isn't all that good. Even when there are other parts of the population that think it's bad.

The Miley, "Scandal"

Image
Miley Cyrus, who I first knew as Hanna Montana!!! has started a huge controversy, over this photograph. Taken by world famous photographer Annie Leibovitz.

I read this story on aol news, where there is a place for people to leave comments which they do so liberally. Id have to imagine that some people are just idiots, but for the fact that they can actually get online and type, they must be some-what literate. But maybe they should be reading something other than the cliff-note version of the bible because they seem to think this picture is "Kiddie Porn" There isn't even a nipple showing! When I look at this picture it doesn't seem sexual at alllll. And it makes me think about what the real "problem" is? I would think that most people would look at this picture, who didn't know who Miley was, or how old she was, and think - thats a pretty picture. I wouldn't think anyone would think it's very scandalous.

I would say that the people who look at thi…

Prophecies from da Vinci

Image
"Of churches and the habitations of Frairs: many will there be who will give up work and labour and poverty of life and goods, and will go to live amoung wealth in splendid buildings, declaring that this is the way to make themselves acceptable to God."

"Of selling Paradise: An infinite number of men will sell publicly and unhindered things of the very highest price, without leave from the master of it: while it never was theirs nor in their power; and human justice will not prevent it."

"Of christians; Many who hold the faith of the son only build temples in the name of the Mother."

The Virgin and Child with St Anne

Louvre, Paris I'm doing research for my re-write and came across an interesting insight about Leonardo daVinci by Sigmund Freud. He wrote an essay called Leonardo daVinci, A Memory of His Childhood. In it he said that if you view this picture rotated 90 degrees, you can see a vulture. First, that goes to support that there are hidden images in DaVinci's art. Second he said it was in this particular painting because of a quote from DaVinci that said: . "It seems that I was always destined to be so deeply concerned with vultures—for I recall as one of my very earliest memories that while I was in my cradle a vulture came down to me, and opened my mouth with its tail, and struck me many times with its tail against my lips." . Freud said this painting described that quote, and the vultures tail was his mothers nipple. Why? Because in Egypt vultures were supposed to all be mothers, and had no…

Static

Image
'....but i'm finally starting to glimpse IT again. Flickers of violet and black static that seem to change into shapes and symbols and then fade away right as they are about to be perceived. The shape of an 0, then maybe a T. I can't make them out - and that's the point. I'm seeing something i'm not suppose to, something no one else has, our imperceptible cage.

I struggle to keep my eyes open, but they keep drooping right when i need them to stay open. When they close, i glimpse something similar but not as clear. It's only after I keep my eyes open for as long as possible without blinking that the distortion changes. Like seeing something out of the corner of your eye that disappears as soon as you try to look directly at it, I can't force it, I can't over think it, i have to let it manifest itself in it's own way.

It's an eerie experience trying to entice something out of your own mind. You would think it would be yours to wield as you wishe…
